Cafeología Coyoacán marks the brand’s first coffee shop in Mexico City, located in the historic neighborhood of Coyoacán. The project draws material and textural inspiration from San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, translating the city’s surfaces, finishes, and tactile qualities into a contemporary urban context.

Beyond its physical expression, the space embodies Cafeología’s social ethos, rooted in direct relationships with coffee-producing communities in Chiapas. The brand’s commitment to fair trade, transparency, and dignified labor shapes the character of the shop, positioning coffee not as a commodity but as a cultural and social exchange.

The coffee shop is organized into two adjacent spaces connected by a low wall that provides both visual continuity and functional separation. The first space contains the coffee bar, conceived as an active and expressive zone where preparation, service, and interaction are made visible. This area reinforces Cafeología’s emphasis on education, traceability, and dialogue between baristas and customers.

The second space functions as the seating area, offering a calmer environment intended for pause, conversation, and community. The low wall subtly separates storage and service functions from the main salon, maintaining openness while allowing the operational needs of the shop to remain discreet.

The project integrates social responsibility, architectural clarity, and sensory experience, creating a welcoming space that reflects Cafeología’s values while establishing a meaningful presence in Mexico City.
